Sum
up the time since leaving Glenbard?? Teaching, mothering, modeling,
graduate school, banking, marketing, consulting, retired! Bob, my
husband of 38 years and I raised two great sons. Darrin, 35 and
Christopher, 28. 4 current grandchildren and another due in Feb.'07.
Bob is a private pilot and we are fortunate to be able to fly to
Indiana and Maryland to see the grand-babies. I am involved with
my church and sing in the choir. Life is good and I am blessed to
have the health and energy to still enjoy it. My goal is a lengthy
visit to Ireland to do some family research.
I
remember the drama club and working on the newspaper. Super experiences!

included early day computer companies, airlines, log homes, oil
and gas, recreational companies, and biotech.
Love
to work with the higher education students as a guest lecturer and
administrators in designing curriculum. We spend our summers based

I
moved from Glen Ellyn after my sophomore year, to Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
After graduation from Oshkosh, I attended Purdue University, then
the University of Wisconsin, graduating with a degree in Electrical
Engineering. I’ve spent most of my career as a Reliability
Engineer in medical products, primarily pacemakers, defibrillators
and diagnostic ultrasound. I’m currently working for Siemens
Ultrasound as a Staff Reliability Engineer.
I’ve
been married and divorced twice. Bummer. No kids but I helped raise
my second wife’s children.
I
enjoy sailing and fishing when I can, hunting upland birds and North
American big game, and a variety of shooting sports. I started riding
motorcycles while I was in high school, and currently own a sport-tourer,
rigged for long distance rallies, that serves for commuting and
vacation. I've never been to Sturgis, but I put on about 15K to
20K a year, mostly west of the Mississippi.

After
graduating from Glenbard I ‘attended’ (I use that term
loosely) Drake University for two years and flunked out. With the
draft breathing down my back I enlisted in the Navy and worked in
cryptology. After getting out of the Navy and with a better attitude
about school, I graduated with honors from San Diego State University,
then lived in Germany and traveled though Europe while I taking
graduate classes at the University of Heidelberg. After returning
from Germany, I became a Certified Management Accountant and worked
in various accounting positions for 25 years. In 1996 my father
and I founded ArcMate Mfg. Corp. where I am now the CEO. We make
and distribute tools and supplies for picking up on the job or at
home under the brands EZ Reacher, DressEZ, Rainbow Reacher, Orang-U-Tongs,
and KingTongs. We do a lot of work with Keep America Beautiful and
Adopt-A-Highway groups. Visit us at www.arcmate.com.
I
met my wife Paula while she was auditing me at a previous employer
and we were married in 1986. Paula is now a self-employed CPA and
we have two sons, Mikie (14) and TJ (13). We take vacations in the
local mountains (I’m the oldest snowboarder on the mountain)
and in Mexico (I picked up a working knowledge of Spanish as well
as the German I used to speak fluently). I was very active in Toastmasters
for years and served a term as the District Governor for the 125
clubs in San Diego County, and parts of Arizona and Mexico. Over
the years I have become very active in a local Presbyterian church.
Nowadays I split my time between activities in our church, my family,
and the business. If any of you ever visit sunny San Diego, give
me a call and we can reminisce.

I
graduated from Albion College in 1968, married Susan in June of
that year and became a Navy pilot in the fall. Left the Navy in
winter of 1973 and have been in various managerial and sales positions
in both the aviation industry and the printing industry. Received
a second degree in aviation management from Georgia State University
in 1976. We have moved 15 times, but seemed to have settled in Jacksonville
for the last 15 years.
My
wife and I have three children: a girl and two boys. Both boys graduated
from the Naval Academy and the youngest is still serving in the
Navy. Additionally, we now have four grandchildren.
Golf
and fantasy football seem to be the only sports my knees can handle
anymore. We are also very active in our church. Since all branches
of the family tree are somewhere in the area, free time is at a
premium.

Following
graduation from the University of Illinois in 1968, I spent 12 years
in administration with Arthur Andersen & Co., and 14 years in
residential real estate, before finally metamorphosing into a bridal
consultant/event planner, after my husband sold his Glen Ellyn/Wheaton
realty firm in 2000. I am having a marvelous time being “mother
hen” to a little flock of brides … including the daughters
of ’64 classmates, Karen (Daigle) and Norm Schickedanz, and
Janet (Marsh) Phillips, and feel that “if you don’t
start doing something that you love at this stage of your life …
then, when??”
In
addition, I continue to be a crusader on civic matters related to
property taxes (“my pen is always flowing!”) …
perennially decorate some portion of my Glen Ellyn home …
dig in the garden … be the Christmas Queen of Excess (“to
the chagrin of my Jewish husband!”) and enjoy time with my
marvelous family … running the gamut from my 82-year-old
mother to a two-month-old great-grandchild!
