Too much education. BA and then three years to get an MA in sociology and then three years of law school. At least I escaped Nam. General law practice in Racine, Wisconsin for 17 years and then quit and moved to Las Vegas in 1992, leaving two ex-wives behind. But what could I do, so started over as a lawyer, personal injury only, made some money and quit a few months ago. Recently retired except for real estate investment business with third (and final) wife, teammate, partner Luann.

Edward (class of 1964)

After high school, headed off to nursing school in Chicago, graduating in 1967. In 1968 Ed and I married and lived near the University of Illinois medical campus. While he attended school, I worked at the University of Illinois hospital and Presbyterian St. Luke’s in surgical ICU. We moved to Wisconsin in 1972 when Ed started his residency. Three children and many years later, we’re still here. The children are one their own, living in three different states which gives us a great opportunity to travel.

My activities, hobbies and passion can be labeled into one – quilting! I’ve worked in a quilt shop, taught, make and collect quilts.

Pam Bolstead (class of 1964)

Married Pamela Bolstead, class of 1964, graduated 1969 from Illinois State University with a B.S. in education. Taught one year at Normal Community High School. Drafted spent 1½ years in Army at Ft. Lewis, Washington. Moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1972. Self-employed in auto sales businesses.

Pam and I recently celebrated our 38th anniversary. We have two children, Michael, age 32 (two grandchildren, Jake 4½ and Allison 3) and Brian, age 23.

We have been long time ticket holders for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Cardinals. We enjoy vacations in San Diego, Mexico and Las Vegas. We have had cabins in the mountains and boats in the lake.

We have a passion for buying, fixing and selling houses – about 15-20 so far – we are constantly looking for the next venture and adventure.

In a racquetball tournament, I played Bill Ackermann (class of 1965), wife Linda (Smith). Smith was band director after us. We met our principal, John Sheahan and athletic director, Jim Cook at a party. Got to know them as adults, not student-teacher.

Forty years might be divided in the following manner:

Three years in the U.S. Army (1968/71) – one year at the Tomb of the Unknowns and one year in S.E. Asia as an advisor to an ARVN Ranger Battalion.

Five years as the sometimes-husband of a near-crazy astrologer/hippie

Eight years in various colleges (Miami of Ohio, University of Connecticut, St. Joseph’s University, Alvernia College) resulting in a BA in English Literature, and MA in Developmental Biopsychology and an MBA.

Twelve years building my own business – an agricultural commodities trading company.

Fourteen winters skiing in the Rockies.

Fifteen years as the proud father of a fantastic daughter, Chelsea, now in her last year at Dartmouth College.

Twenty-six years as the husband, friend, and companion of a beautiful woman.

And the next several years doing some teaching, some consulting and hoping for a chance to do it all over again.

Business Coordinator/Designer/Developer - has built highly respected and competitive businesses focused on interactive web development and typesetting. Interactive Data Technologies, Ltd., (IDT) a twelve-year-old subsidiary of Donna’s House of Type, Inc., (DHOT) is my most recent business success. The 36-year-old parent corporation, also owned and operated by me, is a computerized graphics and typesetting industry leader within the firm’s Illinois marketplace. Clients of Interactive Data Technologies, Ltd., and Donna’s House of Type, Inc., are comprised of agencies, corporations and companies such as Lucent Technologies, Pepsi, Fiat-Allis, American Tourister, Illinois state government and the U.S. Postal Service.

IDT’s remarkable 350% growth during it’s first nine years attests to honed skills in business operations and management. IDT and DHOT continue to raise the bar in their marketplace by setting industry standards, price points and quality expectations. My current businesses were built on skills gained through other remarkable successes. I embarked on my first business venture in 1965, using marketing and management skills to increase sales of the Springfield Avis franchise 12-fold in one year.

In 1984 I took over a dying lakeside fishing resort, rejuvenating it within two years to a fully booked family vacation destination. Revenues during that time increased by more than 200%. Nine years ago I embraced what was then the new web phenomenon, and used technical and business skills to expand my existing graphics firm and client base into today’s thriving corporations. I share my skills through lectures, classes and business partnerships.
